US Power

Size: 10,000 sq. ft.
Cost: $2 MM
Role: Interior architectural design

U.S. PowerGen’s objectives for its new 10,000-square-foot space on Fifth Avenue were two-fold: to foster collaboration among employees and to reflect the dynamism of a power company.  Asked to provide complete architectural design services, we encouraged co-worker interaction with a series of transparent glass walls.

To represent U.S. PowerGen’s identity, we used floor-to-ceiling steel that was sculpted into curved forms projecting strength and fluidity.  The steel also serves as a wall between the public reception area and private offices.  Construction lasted 14 weeks and cost $2,000,000.
