We served as the executive architect for Five Franklin Place, a high-design residential complex in Tribeca. As principal in charge, Richard DeMarco worked closely with the project’s designer, UNStudio, to enhance the appeal and feasibility of the building’s interiors.
The building’s signature exterior feature is a series of interlocked and contorted black metal bands. The bands surround the tower’s all-glass curtain wall and are mirrored in the curved planes of the interior space. Most of the building’s residences have bands that peel from the façade to serve as balconies. Further up, the bands transform into terraces for the penthouse residences.
