Richard Cohen, Project Architect

After earning a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University, as well as a Master of Architecture and a Master of Science in Urban Planning from the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, Richard spent time working for several notable architectural firms before joining MADGI in 2013 as a Senior Project Architect and Manager.  Some of this experience has included the Dulles Airport expansion and the United States Embassy in Ottawa Canada, as well as the current 10 Sullivan Street and Soori Highline residential towers in Manhattan.  Exhilarated by the process of building, beginning with design inception and continuing through the emergence of a built form, Richard revels in solving both technical and design related challenges and finds inspiration in utilizing the interplay between these two – technology and art – to generate poetic and rigorous architectural solutions. Fluent in Hebrew, Richard enjoys winter activities, particularly ice hockey and skiing.
